Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Applied AI Ethics Project platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the platform.

Use of the Platform

The platform and its content are intended for educational and professional use. You may use the platform only for lawful purposes and only in accordance with these terms, applicable membership terms, and any organization agreement that applies to your access.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity conducted through your account. You may not share paid access, bypass access controls, interfere with platform operation, or use the platform in a way that degrades, disrupts, or compromises the service for others.

Membership

Paid memberships are billed on the terms presented at the time of purchase. Founding Member access is granted on a lifetime basis for the account holder and is non-transferable. We may change, add, or discontinue features over time, provided that paid users retain access to the membership benefits then associated with their plan or a commercially reasonable successor.

Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the Applied AI Ethics Project platform and materials are owned by Applied AI Ethics Project or its licensors. Protected materials include, without limitation, course lessons, lesson plans, scenarios, assessment domains, decision options, tradeoff language, scoring methodology, report structures, report language, policy templates, policy section structures, generated explanatory language, interface copy, design elements, source code, prompts, rubrics, workflows, mappings, and other platform content.

Copyright, trademark, trade secret, contract, and other intellectual property laws may protect these materials. Except for the limited rights expressly granted to you in these terms, no rights are transferred or licensed by implication.

Restricted Uses

You may not copy, reproduce, publish, distribute, sell, sublicense, display publicly, create derivative works from, or otherwise exploit platform materials without prior written permission. You may not scrape, crawl, harvest, bulk download, mirror, frame, index, extract, or compile platform content, assessment content, reports, policy templates, or generated materials except through features intentionally provided by the platform for your authorized use.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, probe, or attempt to discover the platform's non-public source code, prompts, scoring logic, risk mappings, policy assembly logic, validation rubrics, security controls, or proprietary workflows. You may not use platform materials to build, train, fine-tune, evaluate, benchmark, seed, or improve a competing product, service, dataset, model, course, assessment, report generator, policy generator, or AI system.

Generated Materials

If your account or organization has access to Discovery Reports, Personal AI Principles, organizational reports, governance risk findings, or generated policy drafts, you may use those generated materials for your own internal learning, governance, and policy-development purposes, subject to these terms and any applicable organization agreement.

Generated materials do not transfer ownership of the underlying platform, templates, prompts, scoring methodology, assessment structure, governance framework, policy coverage standard, validation logic, or other proprietary materials. You may not resell, repackage, publish, or use generated materials as part of a competing advisory, educational, assessment, policy-generation, or AI governance product without written permission.

No Legal Advice

The platform provides educational, analytical, and governance-support materials. It does not provide legal advice, compliance certification, professional certification, clinical advice, employment advice, or regulatory approval. Generated policy drafts and governance risk findings should be reviewed by qualified counsel, leadership, compliance, security, privacy, and affected stakeholders before adoption.

Feedback

If you provide ideas, suggestions, corrections, comments, or other feedback about the platform, you grant us permission to use that feedback without restriction or compensation, provided that we will not intentionally disclose your confidential account information in doing so.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe an account has violated these terms, infringed intellectual property rights, compromised platform security, or used the platform in a way that creates legal, operational, or reputational risk. Upon termination, your right to access the platform ends, but provisions concerning intellectual property, restricted uses, generated materials, disclaimers, and legal limits continue to apply.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the updated date below and, where appropriate, through additional notice in the platform or by email.
